Mine get fixed when I clear my browser. I hope they'll fix it permanently, though.

Weirdly enough, the one time it happened to me, I did a hard reload, and everything was fixed.

Must be play-day for the aether gremlins. My ISP's been off and on all day, as has the electricity again - repairs from the storm damage apparently aren't going so well... I stopped re-setting the clocks and re-booting the computer, and figure I'll just use the old-fashioned methods: looking at the sky for the one and sending psychic messages for the other. *g*

Glad you got your icon back, it's one of my favorites of yours. Hope the rest of your day is going MUCH better than your LJ! *hugs & sharing ha*

This was posted awhile ago in News:

The problem with userpics being randomly replaced is a known issue related to a third-party provider. LiveJournal has contracted with a content serving vendor to host some of its files, and there is currently a problem with mismatched icons.

If you are having problems with your userpics, you can open a Support ticket, and someone will help you. The developers can manually clear the problem by flushing the CDN cache.

Then select "Userpics" as category, type "incorrect userpics" in the subject, paste links to all wrong icons. Usually someone will get to this in about 6 hours.

Note, your icons have not actually been changed on your account. They are still there, but the wrong one is being sent. Support can fix the problem for you.

Didn't know it was a bug. Last week I went through the hassle of reloading the missing icons and changing my password cos I thought I'd been hacked! Hassle further compounded by fact I'd forgotten original password. Glad you've said this, I'll know for future :)
