Hooray for the Cherryh request.
A while back, she said she was working on a sequel to Cyteen, but I haven't heard anything since. I read one Lord John Grey book by Gabaldon; I liked the character quite a bit in the Outlander books. I have to confess that I only made it through 50 pages or so of the last in the series. I tried flipping through to see if Lord John showed up again, but didn't find him.

According to Amazon, Regenesis is due out on January 6th. I am very jazzed.

Lord John does show up in all of the later Outlander books, but only occasionally. I have all the scenes with him and references to him marked so I can find them :-). I freely admit to reading main series pretty much only for him.

I've read all the John Grey books and everything Patricia McKillip's written, and everything Sarah Monette's written, too. Off to dig up the other three, since the odds are good I'll like them :)

Have you read Bear's Promethean Age books? I'm thinking about requesting some Shakespeare/ Marlowe slash. Oh, and just looking at this list, have you read Pat Barker's Regeneration trilogy?

Have I mentioned that I love your taste in books?

The Janice Holt Giles is very much a book of it's time -- late 50's -- and it is nominally the last of a trilogy (though they are connected by theme and character, not so much by plot lines -- I thought for a long time that Tara's Healing was a standalone.) I still love Tara though, and he has remained a compelling character. I have to read them now as a look into a time and culture that I am not really part of, though.

I dotted over to look at the Pat Barker (which I haven't read, yet) I absolutely _must_ read this asap. Oooooo!

If you haven't read any Melissa Scott, you are in for a treat. I also really like the books she has written with Lisa Barnett.

Edited because I hit send too soon --
I am currently reading The Stratford Man, and would happily aid and abet in the Shakespeare/Marlowe goodness.
