Exclusive vs Inclusive

willshetterly, in this post, makes clear a thing that I have long been trying to articulate to my self:

People who exclude are terrified that they will be excluded, and so they fear that Obama will favor "his people." What excluders don't understand is that includers will even include them.

Amen, sistah. It's insecurity overload. Gosh, sounds like the Code: Fear leads to anger . . .

I've understood that they were afraid, and been trying for years to wrap my brain around what it was the fear was of/about. For some reason this post made _sense_ of the fear.
