The prompt I chose was "Highlander, Duncan/Methos, yak-butter"

It wants a title and some polishing, especially the end, but all in all, I think I'm happy with it.

You know, the place we went to dinner a few weeks ago actually had Yak meat on the menu (it was a fondue place) and we ordered it just because of Methos [g]

And I just realized I never posted about it!

Oh, fun -- and I find myself doing stuff like that too :-)

I was going to have Duncan get actual yak-butter for the story, but as far as I could tell (from looking online) it isn't sold out of area, even as an exotic. It seems that people make their butter-tea out of the butter to hand.

Even though the link did not lead directly to your fic (this one does ;), I have found, read, and enjoyed it. The lovingly sensual bread imagery was truly mouth-watering, and the butter helped of course.

Also, the last paragraph with its 'old-as-bread' metaphor was pure beauty.

Thank you! I didn't think about you & your bread story until just now, but I suspect the memory of it made this one richer. I am really glad you like it. I actually wasn't sure about how well the last paragraph was going to work as a conclusion, so that's particularly nice to hear!
