A friend of mine, of twenty years duration, converted last year to the Witlesses, most likeley out of guilt at the death of his mother. He no longer speaks to me, but my son Keith, who was raised Mormon and therefore expected to know his theology, has a field day with him and his new buddies. The Witlesses quote numbers and fragments rraher than knowing theology.

The good side of the Witless sect is that the provide a very strong emotional and other support group for their members. They also fought and suffered for their right to believe as they would, and won against the US Govenment during hard times: their going door to door is in a way a boon they earned by standing up for themselves, and therefore all of us who belong to small, unpopular religions.

They used to come to the Lodge, but the last time I gave a sermon on how important it was to the Devil that they keep giving him so much publicity, and they stopped coming.
