Blessed Brigit/Imbolc to all!

Happy birthdays to: darkrosetiger, hbkurtzwilde and ladycelia!

It is raining and cool here, and I have oodles and oodles of work to be doing.

In random good news, I discovered where my polling place is for tomorrow. I will be voting, dammit. Even though the person I *wanted* to vote for in the primary has bowed out.

civics, season, weather, bdays

Me too. Edwards was the first to post an environmental platform. However as you will see from my blog, the California league of Conservation Voters has asked the remaining candidates for their positions. See http://ecovote.org/answers/

So I'm voting for Hillary.

Other than that, the really cold weather has eased off, which is a relief. Greyhaven is a hard house to keep warm. We're all getting ready for Pantheacon-- a good way to avoid actually working on the new Avalon book.

Miss you.

Voting, yeah! It shows you care enough to show up and be counted. The first time I helped count at a polling place 40+ years ago, one ballot had nothing marked. Some were very surprised and puzzled. I figured that the person at least took the time and effort to stay on the active rolls and expressed their opinion.

Buenos dias,

We now know that there was a tremendous turnout at the local polls.

By the time I reached my polling place here on the deep, deep souf side at 5:00 in the afternoon, over 300 people had already passed through to cast their votes. By the time I was finished casting my vote there was a line out the door, across the sidewalk and into the street on Cherry Avenue. In my very ethnic, mostly Spanish speaking, poverty-ridden neighborhood.

I was so encouraged, truly heartened to see so many of my neighbors out at the polls. Because we are the very people who need to help choose a new administration for reasons too numerous to list in a comment box.

Con regard,

JD
