What do you mean I can't kill him? I killed him once already.
Ok. Ok, it was just a dream but...

;)

And thank you.

We'll see...

I don't know yet truthfully. There are two ways I can see this going. Decisions, decisions.

OH! You're full of cliffhangers. No fair.

(Just a couple of things: Le marais and you can drop the basilique, just "le Sacré-Cœur" is fine.)

Thank you! Changing those right now. It's hard knowing what things actually are called when you've never been.

I could say that it's not Arthur the way I see him: in my imagination Arthur is more resistant. But honestly I've read many stories where characterization isn't exactly like my imagination and if the story is well-written it doesn't matter. Your story is definitely well-written, so I won't complain about characterization.
This chapter is heart-breaking, especially the fragment where Arthur realizes how bad his state is. I think I agree with nyogu: you have to fix it!

You know what's so strange? He's nothing like my head canon here either. It's just where the story went for me.

Like his in charge and logical decision making self went, well fuck, I'm dangerous and out of control and I can't go to the loony bin, guess the only thing to do is put myself down.

It's less the "I feel sorry for myself" kind of thing. Does that make sense?

Of course it makes sense! And, because of that, it's more sad. When you feel sorry for yourself it means that probably someone can comfort you and you let this person do so. When you feel so out of control... Well, I don't see many ways of escape.
Funny thing, sometimes story can bring you somewhere you've never planned to be.

They really can. I came in with a pretty good outline for the story, but the ending was always vague or too rushed. So it's like I'm letting it write itself while trying to not make it too easy. Because I hate rushed endings.
