Probably my parents. Even though I'm away from home at the moment, they still do so much for me. I'd be utterly lost without them.

I do still stop and notice things around me, whether it's friends, or nature, or a beautiful building, or things like that (you can see how snap happy I've been recently here). But when I don't see my parents often, I forget sometimes how much I rely on them still. Still, I don't feel too bad about it today, because it's their birthdays (yesterday and tomorrow), and I remembered to get them both gifts and get said gifts to them, and cards as well. And I do get to spend a lot of time with them during the holidays, which is nice.

It's very easy to underestimate the importance of people in our lives, but it's good that you didn't forget about them on their special days! I didn't forget about my mom on Mother's Day, but I a) forgot the card I made her in my locker and b) didn't spend Sunday with her because i) she was feeling ill and canceled it earlier that morning only to abruptly reschedule a family dinner later on, and ii) I had a project due the following day. I did manage to record and send her a cheesy little Mother's Day song, though. (Aaaand now it's set as my ringtone. EUGH.)

Ooh, your Tumblr's so pretty and clean! Not to mention optimistic. :D

Recording and sending a song is such a cute thing to do! Hm... maybe next year...

And thank you! I don't like having a lot of clutter on my screen. My only problem with that layout is that it capitalises all the headers, and most of the punctuation in them seems to disapparate.

And yeeahhh... I gave up on the quote thing a few weeks back when I stopped using Tumblr for a while (spoilers!) I did keep it up pretty well until then, though! I thought I'd changed my user header back then, actually... I'll have another go at fixing that now.

I know I appreciate the sound of rain on a metal roof, smell of fresh cut grass, smell of books, feel of books, feel of water on my skin, how soft my cat's fur is, a good night's sleep. I know that. I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with what I don't take the time to appreciate.

Give me a second.

Flowers I guess. I mean, my mom has dozens of flower beds and my housemate is a florist, a friend of our is a florist and except for once in a while, I don't appreciate them as much as I should. Because I like looking and smelling them but I don't like weeding, planting, watering them. All of which I usually get roped into doing. So, I don't think about how beautiful they are as much as I should.

Ooooh, the sound of rain on a metal roof... I've never experienced it for prolonged periods of time, but I see the appeal. And water! Oh, water... I love swimming in a clear, cool pool on a hot summer day and if I have a pair of goggles and a snorkel on hand, I adore floating on my belly and simply letting my body relish the feeling of being out of control. I almost fell asleep like that one time, actually. xD

I can't say I'm a huge fan of flowers, but I do realize how much I love the lilacs that grow nearby. On early spring walks I can catch hints of their perfume on the breeze long before I've even approached them, and when summer comes and they go I definitely feel a little emptier inside.
