First off, it saddens me that as of so far there aren't any comments on this. Because what you said was beautiful and true. Or at least to me. I also am like water and do believe in loving people and telling them. Even when I'm angry (doesn't happen much at all) before I leave I will tell them I love them (even if I'm yelling it). I will do most anything for my friends and family. Even if I know they wouldn't do it back for me ( ... )

LOL! It's all good--while I always love to connect with my FList, I don't expect anything. It's just so therapeutic to make these posts--it's enough, you know? There's just the added benefit of getting outside opinions from people I've never met in real life, but still consider to be my friends. :P

A fellow kindred spirit! I swear, everything you've said, I've either done something similar or I would do it if the situation arose.

"I believe that you should always cherish your day and tell those you love that you love them all the time because you never know when you or those around you will die."...Oh my God. Hello, my moral twin! If there was such thing as a moral twin, you'd be mine ( ... )

I think I understand about just posting to get it all out and not get replies, but it's always good to get those replies. And chances are you'll get some now because I like to comment and talk to people since I don't really talk to people much irl. It's rather hard to get me to talk about my feelings irl especially if I'm leading the convo ( ... )

Interesting and thought-inducing question as always dear!! <3

I believe...

Let's state what I don't believe in first; I don't believe in the first thing that comes to mind when you say "believe": I don't believe in God. I'm not sure I even believe in a Great Force that moves the universe and that would not be Christian (or Jewish or Muslim) canon either.

I used to be a religious person, when I was very young, and then I came to realize that I don't need God, and if he really existed, what would he care whether I worshipped him or not?

Also, there is so much to see and try to discover in and around myself that I don't have time for God. I don't believe in him as an explanation either, because it would make me stop searching, and stop searching would mean stop living to me.

So, ultimately, I believe in my ability to put everything including myself, in question. And marvel at the mysteries of the human mind, of nature, of how the world works, because there is joy in putting everything in question, not fear; and that joy comes from ( ... )

I'm with you on religion. I think I'm more of a "see and believe" kind of girl, when it comes to higher beings who control the Universe.

"I don't believe in him as an explanation either, because it would make me stop searching, and stop searching would mean stop living to me."
That's such an insightful perspective! You seem like a very motivated, dedicated individual. I love your beliefs, because the way you described it makes it feel like an epiphany for me. (Does that make any sense?) I'm not sure about believing in human kind, but everything else? I'm a believer. Especially poetry. Even when it's written nonsense, I find more comfort and faith in poems than anything else. The first poem I've ever bothered to imprint in my brain--"Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost--speaks to me in such a powerful way. That poem opened my eyes to the cold reality of losing innocence, but in a way that didn't make me feel frightened and alone ( ... )

Hun, your written thoughts are always so perfectly composed, language barriers or no. And I totally understand (and believe) in what you've said concerning freedom. I hate being stifled, whether it be physically or artistically, and I rebel in the face of oppression. Freedom is a right that everyone deserves. It's inspiring, how passionate you are about this belief of yours that you would die for someone else's right to freedom. Just another example of why you're such an amazing person. (: ♥

And while I'm not so sure about greater beings--energies--the way you've described is is awe-inspiring. It made my toes tingle... is that what a comment-gasm feels like? xD Either way, good Godga, woman, you've got a way with words!

Thank you for leaving your outlook; I always like to hear others' opinions, as you may know. :P

♥ ♥ Hope you can feel my virtual hugging all the way from NJ, babe!

Then feel the powerful might of my virtual hugging! \o/

I'm always glad to make others think, but I derive some serious enjoyment from actually hearing/reading opinions and perspectives that aren't my own. It's eye-opening.

...Your childhood sounds delicious. Your mother sounds pretty cool, and I literally laughed out loud at "sometimes you just had to call an asshole an asshole."

"Just don’t you dare be telling me (and any future kids of mine) what we can and can’t read."
PREACH! I'm a firm believer in Your Kink Is Not My Kink, and all such variants of the term. To each their own; I'll do what I please and let others do what they please.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post! ♥

THREADJACK! Because we are braintwins. boysinperil September 1 2010, 17:16:34 UTC
Your mom and my mom probably would have gotten along well - mama gave me a copy of Stranger in a Strange Land for Christmas when I was 14. I think it may have warped my spiritual system just a little bit, because while ritual cannibalism isn't my thing, that whole idea of You Are God is kinda stuck in my head.

I believe in the Divinity of everything.
I believe in finding joy in the moment.
I believe that (as Anne Frank said) in the end, all people are truly good (or have a kernel of goodness in them).

I believe it's often difficult to remember all of the above things in the heat of living.

I believe hugs - even the internet kind - are fantastic things.

I'm going to be honest: you and Lezi up there are making me just want to crawl into the internet and hug the bejeezus out of both of you. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it amazes me how much I care about people I've only met online. I really do want you hug you right now.

Also--you're comment about braintwins and similar mothers led to the mother (ha!) of all ephiphanies. I firmly believe that we're related, BiP! It's got to be. We ARE braintwins, and really, it's not a stretch. I come from the biggest, sprawling-est extended family that you can imagine. (I have over 70 first cousins on my mom's side alone.) And yes, my grandparents were Catholic. Why do you ask? Anyway, I figure I'm related to just about anyone if you look hard enough. Somewhere along the line, your mom and my mom were seperated at birth. Well, hello, cousin #70-something.

I believe belief in love is the most powerful awe-inspiring thing a human can have.

I believe that music, art, poetry all add something to the world. Even if it's something as seemingly small as a story about a couple of characters from TV.

I believe that if nothing we do matters the only thing that matters it what we do. What we contribute to the world. How we affect the people we love.

I believe unrestrained uninhibited joy is something that it needs to be embraced every single day.

I believe that the feeling of my kitty's nose burrowed in my freshly washed hair is what love feels like.

I believe that true peace lies in those bone crushing, bury your nose in their neck kind of hugs.

Right and wrong live in each of us. It's our responsibility to make sure the good in us shines every day.

Beauty is eternal and in everyone. It shines out of everyone who posted here and it makes me believe that us humans might be on to something.

I second your belief concerning music, art and poetry! I think life would be pretty greyscale without the added sparkle of ditties or rhymes.

Unrestrained, uninhibited joy is so hard to come by nowadays! I get where you're coming from when you say we need to savor each and every moment of it when it overcomes us. ♥

"Right and wrong live in each of us. It's our responsibility to make sure the good in us shines every day."
...Dude. Couldn't have said it better myself.

YOU ARE AMAZING, HUN. ♥ ♥ I feel so blessed to know you. Seriously. :D :D

Thank you for sharing! ♥
