Icon & Banner Post: Vintage Postcards

Sep 16, 2009 00:00

So, I accidentally got addicted to making "Vintage Postcard" icons. The only thing holding me back is a lack of caps! I would greatly appreciate any suggestions/requests/episodes/caps (that are predominantly outside and zoomed out) to turn into postcard icons!

Hee! Thanks! It was made by someone far more talented than I. :D

Speaking of, I keep meaning to learn a photo editing program - what do you use? I'm messing around with GIMP, but it's slow going.

I use photoshop now, but I used to use GIMP. In my experience, photoshop is a bit better, but there's still a lot you can go with GIMP (it's just trickier or more fiddly sometimes). GIMP's great though, 'cause it's free and open source (and not over-priced like photoshop!)

One of my favorite tuts is for the GIMP: http://community.livejournal.com/gimp_tutorial/76088.html

I still use it, even though I use photoshop now.

I think what's most important is to find good tutorials when you're learning to use a new program. A few good tutorials will teach you the ropes of your program. And then it doesn't matter wether you use Photoshop, GIMP or PSP. =)
