Writing Dilemma

Oct 25, 2012 11:09

So, I have an fan fic story I started writing in June and I haven't updated since the beginning of September. I loved the story when I was writing it and I don't want to leave it unfinished, but I have no motivation or inspiration to finish it ( Read more... )

I'm so with you and I understand your dilemma. It may be best to wrap it up quickly just so it's off your mind. I hate leaving fics unfinished. But I do not at all blame you for not wanting to go back to season 7 and 8. It was all garbage. But I would love to read some of your work, and I'd be interested in reading this even if it goes to season 7 :-)

I'm also with you about preferring to read rather than write and I'm all about hardcovers and paperbacks. I don't have a Nook or a Kindle although I do have Nookbooks for my laptop so I can dowload ebooks for cheap when I just can't afford a book that's been released as a hardcover. But I'm in general not a fan of ebooks.

I'm going to start posting my story on here. I have 9 chapters written and I think I'm going to make chapter 10 the epilogue. That way I can have Lexie reflect back to how see got there without having to actually write out those scenes.

I think that's a great way to wrap it up and just get it off your plate.

I understand your dilemma. I really like your story but you can't force yourself to write it. At least it never works for me to force anything out of my writer's brain. Either it flows or ... it doesn't flow. I have only unfinished AU stories left where Callie and Arizona won't be in it and Sofia doesn't excist so it's easier for me. I like reading, too. But since I started writing fanfiction it kind of became an obsession. Now when I watch TV shows ideas just pop up in my brain and I need to write them. I can't help it. :-)
Anyways, take your time. I wish you a great weekend.

I know what I want to the chapter to say. I just need to find the time to sit down and write it out.

I can definitely relate on all the ideas popping into your head. I've had dozens of ideas for fan fictions stories. But I much prefer to read, so I don't want to start them and leave them unfinished.
