I have got to start bringing the panniers to work on Fridays so I can get my farmers' market purchases home more easily. I keep heading out the door in the morning thinking, "Oh, I don't need the panniers today - I'm just getting some dates and some salad mix ( Read more... )

Yo, I've been married to a New Yorker* for 13 years, I got no fuckin' problem with swearing.

Dood, we have a twelve-month growing season here. For any particular winter, there's only a 50% chance it'll ever get below freezing. And this is my favorite gardening book, which is so closely tailored to the part of the East Bay where I live that it might as well be titled A Guide to Year-Round Gardening in That Patch of Dirt in the Oversized Planter Out Back of the Parking Lot, the One the Red PT Cruiser Parks in Front Of:

That is an awesomely useful chart. Thank you. I will have to jot it down before the link expires. Previously I just went to the market and said "hmm, five booths have this and it is relatively cheap, it must be in season".
