When you figure out a better way to do something halfway through the process*, the "a-ha!" is tempered with "erf!"

* In this case, how to evenly distribute an extremely thick and sticky cinnamon roll filling over a fairly tender dough. Ah, well. Now I know how to do it next time.

It is even more fun a month into a programming project that is due in two months. The choices are either to tell the manager it will take a lot longer, or to put out code someone else will fix later. I suppose the latter does stimulate the economy...
