While rewatching the pilot episode of The Big Bang Theory, I noticed how it's possible to read Sheldon's character as being romantically interested in Penny. Although during the following two seasons the only thing that has ever really gotten him excited was Leonard Nimoy's DNA. It's not boys or girls, Dr. Sheldon Cooper is clearly spocksexual.
