I seriously still laugh at the image of other people trying to get used to Bullseye and the other DA members being around.

AGAIN, you got Daken/Aki's emotional fears and instability down pat, perfect and matching to canon, and their relationship is beautiful and would be unbelievable without the amazing middle development.

it's certainly an evolution, and it should be; relationships don't last for 10+ years if they stay exactly the same as they were on day 1. i think it's only 10+ years down the road that someone as emotionally armored (and emotionally trashed) as Daken could properly understand and admit that he's in love even in his own head, and saying it out loud (especially to the person you're in love with) is very scary if you really mean it.
