I don't understand it, but it's mostly because the writers were idiots and admitted they didn't care about Terry enough to keep him IC.

yes, this is exatcly what saddens me the most, they are actually bashing a character in the run of the only person that bothered to write him consistently, basing their judgement on what someone did later admitedly not caring about him. That's like someone bashing Donna because of how she acted in that abomination that is Cry for justice without checking any other previous arc for her oh wait *someone* actually does A SIMILAR THING BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY. You know what I mean.
