Hobbit Woes and Christmas Indigestion

Hello and Merry belated Christmas... season.

It's all about family and work these days, but there are a couple of random fan-things I'd like to mention.

1. South Park: Finished Season 14. I laughed a lot with "Crippled Summer", "It's a Jersey Thing", "Insheeption" and "Creme Fraiche", so wrong and yet so hilarious. Like Tom Cruise's house, ( Read more... )

Agree with you 100% on the Finnick casting. Personally, I was on the Jesse William as Finnick boat, but alas.

Also, Creme Fraiche was a beautiful, beautiful episode. Especially when Jamie Oliver shows up. Heh heh heh.

He should be more dark-skinned, I think. But well, as long as he can really act the part, it should be alright. I might be biased due to his role in "Snow White and the Huntsman".

Crying all the time, feeling so insecure... I admit I don't know any of those cooks at all, except for Jamie Olvier, only by name. Cooking shows in that style are becoming popular now.

Me puso mala esa escena.

Oh no! :( It breaks my heart that you didn't like it. Maybe the book will make you like it a bit better? Also according to some moviegoers, watching it again might make you appreciate it?

The mountain fight was actually in the book too, but I guess it could have been a bit more fluid. Humans come in on the next movie, when they finally reach Erebor :)

It's not that I didn't like it. I just found it not a good movie, a careless piece of work, which surprised me. If you take out the beloved story for those who have read the books, the shiny effects and Martin Freeman, there is a badly organized movie with very silly monsters and situations. Only Bilbo and Gollum's scene retains the quality of the previous saga.

Also, I was bothered by the dwarves looting Bilbo's pantry. Really annoyed. I have started the book, and that doesn't happen. He serves them, and when he gets tired, asks for help from those "damned dwarves!". ; )

Some parts were even ridiculous to the point of self-parody.

I am looking forward to reading the book and knowing more of the story, though. And to decent humans, if possible. : )
