Harry Potter is OVER, SINK IN DAMMIT!!!

Jul 27, 2007 23:15

"Welcome to this one man show
Just take a seat, they're always free
No surprise, no mystery
In this theatre that I call my soul
I always play the starring role, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely."

This book can have the emo soundtrack of your choice.
I choose Sting & Police and The Phantom of the Opera.

I still think this book has much of that weird childish sort of love. I don't like Hr/R but you can tell where do their love come from, but H/G... what's the explanation of that? u_u Seems so forced....And the way Harry is always thinking about Ginny is bizarre, looks like he wake up in HBP and decided to love her just as he did with Cho in PoA u_U

LOOOOL Nice analogy with Mary Poppins' bag, I guess it's TOTALLY RIGHT XD
Wow I really enjoyed reading your Snape review. ^^
I always thought Snape hated Harry because James was the one who married Lily, but I couldn't see that in fact he despised Harry because Harry was not his son. Awww that's pretty

The love bits are written to be read by kids. H/G is purely Freudian: Ginny reminds Harry of his mother.

I don't know if it is because he is not his son, but I am sure he'll have wanted to have one with Lily, possibly. And it was not him...;__;

I must say I'm a bit jealous of your love for the series and the characters. I haven't felt that connected to literary characters since a relatively unknown series I read in the 80s. And you are able to love it while at the same time recognizing Rowling's shortcomings as a writer. I'm glad literature can still affect people this way, even if those people are not me.

Holly (she's 12) reads those books, and when I told her I knew all the spoilers (she's not reading the last one yet) her first question was "Oh does Harry die?" and I told her no, and she said "Dang. It would have been an awesome ending if he'd died." So even the target audience agrees with you XD

Haha, I in turn am jealous of some mature friends who have enjoyed it fully like kids, rejoicing in the happy ending and accepting all the turn of events. That is something I cannot do. I enjoyed the funny bits and cried with some sad bits (also because my identification with some causes, and the menstruation in course), but I am far from getting that attached to the characters, as most of the fandom is.

May I ask who is Holly? ^^ You made me curious.
She is so right, it would have been more epic if he had died. But we got the happy ending to the furthest fairytailish extent!

I think we should be grateful that we still have the ability to squee over manga as adults ^^

Holly's my daughter. And she's 12. (showing my age -_-;;)

Oh yes. More so in your case, Hamada fangirl! (Btw, last night I read a HamaIzu that was THE CUTEST THING EVER and thought you'd like it, so I'll try to scan it asap!)

Somehow I guessed, but I wanted to confirm ^^ (and your age was told in your userinfo, more or less---unless you'd lied). Which makes you an even cooler mum you could imagine!

Muertes by the face, tu la has dicho.
