I’ve been annoyed for years now at the identification of American conservatives with the color red.

My husband from Australia thought that was weird because it's reversed there. Labor (left) is red and Liberal (right) is blue.

I always figured the Left chose the modern assignations. Didn't want to be too on-the-nose. Besides, red seems aggressive; blue seems calm.
