I’ve been annoyed for years now at the identification of American conservatives with the color red.

It's the only thing about both parties that switched (you probably heard the myth that both parties switched so that the left would absolve themselves of their racism that they project onto others)

I have always found this counter intuitive.

I wrote the following no later than 2005; you might find it 'prescient' again ...

Crucifying the truth
John 18:38; “What is truth?" Pilate asked.

"And what is truth?" says Pilate, for the State;
"The truth must be reviewed by many eyes.
Pers'nal opinion reigns; there are no lies,
and thus no truth. We find these things innate.

We shall not judge betwixt the many claims,
but call them all the same - that is, all void.

The King returned no answer, since His word
