You know, I was in a Las Vegas buffet line years ago, looking at the physiques of the long line of people at the troughs. It occurred to me that from the perspective of the management, "They also serve who only stand and gain weight."

To me it's a strange and irrational mind set that would feel that is somehow helpful to themselves, their community and their society.
I'm watching a similar situation developing with LEOs. Anyone who chooses to join or even stay in that profession at this time is making a remarkable and brave decision.

I agree on the police, and note the irony of the war on this symbol of the establishment being instigated by the leaders of the establishment. Sad, and utterly inappropriate, but transparent enough.
