I find the evolution of the art fascinating, especially since it starts out with a touch of inspiration from Iwo Jima and ends with a much more dramatic and dynamic scene. Mind you, the engineer in me wants to pick apart the design of the shuttle in the background, but that's just me *grin*. Congrats on the published stories; I'll have to buy this book once my finances stabilize after return to work.

I've got the book here for you and yours if I can convince you to come get it. ];-)

Congrats!

Hopefully it'll still be in print when I can afford to buy books again (or maybe the other way 'round ;) ).

I'm interested in the art, so I'll have to check out the site later, thanks for linking it. Someone did a good job getting it from stage 2 to stage 3 (though I'm puzzled by the "climbers" being roped together, the terrain they could have crossed to get there just doesn't look that rough).

When you're in an environmental suit, any sharp rock is suddenly more threatening; climbs deserve more care. And I suspect that the angle of the climbers was intended to be steeper than the result looks.

That scene is not a scene from any of the stories, oddly enough. Perhaps it's just as well; there would be some feeling of being snubbed for not having the "cover image" if it were specific to one particular story.

But there are lots of spaceships in the stories inside. And some stories (including one of mine) that don't involve spacecraft at all. Some of the entries were quite good indeed.

Thank you. Only one-seventeenth of this one is me -- 2 short stories out of 34 -- but it's a start.
