A/N: Everything funny, atmospheric, authentic and accurate is a2zmom's. This woman did on site research for me. Twice. And she uh, wrote like half of this. Twice. So, much thanks, &tc.
Yay! Very fun update. I love Angel all picky, confused, hungry and jealous. And your Buffy voice was just so on in this chapter, especially with mentions of Angel's "hard chestness" and then getting distracted by purses and shoes. Too funny/cute :)
A lot of the parts where Buffy gets distracted by the things she wants to buy are a2zmom's. It's kinda funny writing Buffy-going-shopping...when I am forced to shop, I'm a get-in-and-go kinda gal, but I picture as a get-in-and" . . . oh my, look at the sale on that skirt"-and-"wow, what a great top" kinda gal.
Oh, wonderful new chapter. I love how cheerful, and, well, cute this chapter is in the middle of all the darkness--but still without ignoring the darker aspects of both characters. And they agreed on pants! It's FATE :)
a2zmom's idea. I toyed with making them disagree, just to give them something else to argue about, but it doesn't work in my book. One of the things My Buffy likes about Angel is his taste in clothes. His snazzy dressing turns her on. Thus, FATE!
I'm glad you liked it. Something as long as this promises to be needs some smudges of fluff or else it would just be exhausting.
“What’s your deal?” she asked irritably, when he’d finally caught up to her at the Clinique counter. A woman hurried by them and Angel pressed himself up against the counter so her shopping bags wouldn’t brush him as she passed. He’d been skittish on the street, overly anxious, looking all around them as if something was going to jump out at them. It had been worse on the subway-the growl had grown to a rumble Buffy had been sure the whole car could hear. Luckily, no one seemed fazed by his animalistic noises or murderous glares. Maybe New Yorkers were used to that kind of thing. Bwah-ha-ha! I SOOOOOO love this! I've spent many a happy hour window shopping through bags and shoes at Macy's Herald Square, and rode the subway with all sorts or characters. New Yorkers really are used to that kind of thing

Poor Jake's brother. Sadly, he will not be making an appearance in this fic.

That was a2zmom's line, and this was exactly what she said. I've learned so much about NYC and NYers while writing this piece.
I'm glad you liked it. The next 5 chapters are written; they just need intense beta'ing :o)
