It's a long time since I've seen a Draco like this (and he does remind me of Maya's Draco, even if he all different, too).

I am loving how this story unfolds so quietly, the way Harry does not only need Draco, but Draco needs Harry as well.

And this - ...and proceeded to explain in detail the bloodlust of the unicorn. - is just awesome! Now I want a legend about the bloodlust of unicorns and how it disappeared over the ages. ♥

Thanks, ever so. Yeah, I'm not really consciously thinking of Maya's Draco. I try to start with canon, and say, "Okay, if we see here are some outward manifestations of someone who I'd really love, who could that person be?" ANd you have to admit it's a weird hodgepodge. Once I throw in, "Yeah, but what if I liked that person?" I come out with someone who is . . . a little like this.

Now I have to write that story. Actually, what I have to write is Draco telling that story to Harry. He'd probably act it out. With oragami.

it showered lightly in the mid-afternoon. That night, Malfoy came again; the grass was wet as though with dew, and the stalks brushed and broke by Malfoy as he strode. When he got to the gate, the knees of his trousers were marked with grass and water, and he smelled like rain. Crickets sang in the coming night.

This is really top notch writing. Wow! Fantastic! You have my undivided attention.

I think this chapter was my favourite! so many brilliant things! Space Aurors! Draco/Harry rivalry over Teddy and Andromeda! Draco wishing he had known Tonks (that was utterly gut-wrenching, by the way). Draco loving Care of Magical Creatures but not loving Hagrid (quite frankly, he was a terrible teacher, even the ever loyal Harry had to admit it in canon). Lupin being everyone's favourite, including Draco's (he probably was, the suck up. I don't like him since he scored as number one favourite HP character in a poll in the Russian HP community I'm following. I could never forgive him winning over Sirius). But my most favourite part of this chapter is Harry wanting to learn the leanguage and culture of mermaids. Harry learning the merpeople's culture has been my favourite plot over the past few months! I couldn't stop thinking about it, because yes, Dumbledore was such a huge figure in Harry's life that Harry could have decided to learn Mermish, couldn't he? (plus, people learning foreign languages and cultures just fascinate me in
