what did you not like about it? It was the other way around for me, looking back some moments were a bit over-the-top but as I was watching it I was just completely into the story.
I dunno, it felt very slow and a little to mishmashy of WW/BSG/Deadwood, I wasn't entirely convinced by David either but thinking back all the little moments and the gloriousness of the Ian/Sebastian step scene and Dylan Baker playing a baddy just make me wish I hadn't deleted it from my harddrive ;)
Yeah apparently so, it lost something like a million viewers whilst it was on air, and it only had a small number to start with, people are saying it's essentially cancelled before it properly starts, so NBC pulling a Fox, but I don't think that'll happen just yet, I just worry we won't get to the really juicy episodes.
I wasn't entirely convinced by David either Yeah, he and Michelle were the weak parts for me, but mostly because of the acting. That may just be in comparison with the amazing actors they were surrouned with, though, so maybe they'll pick up a few things from them and get on their level.

I enjoyed it! Visually it's really stunning and the premise had me hooked enough to check out the next ep. I was mainly planning on watching for Sebastian Stan, but I've actually fallen in love with Chris Egan and his character. There was a bit too much cheesiness going on at times, especially the ending (although that cap in your mini-picspam is GORGEOUS), but I think I'm in it for the whole run.
too much cheesiness going on at times, especially the ending haha the special effects were horrible, and the message was anything but subtle, but it was important for the story, so I didn't mind.

:d it's based on the story of King David from the Bible. Though I guess you could just see it as one big power-play in an alternate-reality monarchy:) (they're not following the story entirely)
I'd like to think I had some involvement in this :P
but seriously, even the writing in this show is fantastic, and guh! I don't know. I can't describe it, but it's so perfect. And it's American! It's American television I finally like again.
It's American television I finally like again Oh, you think you've got it bad?;) I'm happy when once in every 2 years there's a Belgian (well, flemish) show that's "good for belgian standards". Doesn't get better than that :d
Thank god I have access to BBC or I'd have to download all my favorite shows...
I only get access to BBC-K, and that's not really anything spectacular, except for like Worst Witch, and random old Who they show at 3am.
I like, like two American shows, and the rest I watch because I am bored, and they're guilty pleasures.
but, ha. you can see with Kings (especially) the difference between US and UK shows; the budget. I mean, they created an entire city, and the cars and everything. jebus.
gah! I want to act, and I want to do something....i don't know. Shows like Kings make me happy. (and the two main cast members aren't even American :P)
