Okay, the last episode of Heroes kinda made me feel hopeful for Volume 4 again, basically because Volume 3 never even happened in the show.
And then we got an interview with Bryan Fuller , which just reinformed me he does know what Heroes fans want, and even if he says some of the writing isn't what it should be (again) in Volume 4, he at least

I think so. Volume 3 had some big changes for the characters, but they've all been reset to their S2-state.
You might want to read up on S2, but you don't have to watch to get what's going on (it's a bit boring, but there are a couple interesting new characters. But everything that happened in S2 has been retconned by now as well.) S2 is good if you just want to see more of the characters, but it isn't must-see-to-get-the-story.
