I just finished my term paper. You can be a Hindu and a Christian! I have proven this in just 21 pages! Embrace universality today! Don't settle for mere religious tolerance! Accept all religions! It's possible! Do it today!
World peace is now!

Ask me how!

religion, school, haha

You can't be two religions at the same time.

That's not an answer. How is it a paradox? What is your definition of religion?

HOW?! (I'm being helpful here. Seems your sister isn't.)

Typical of my sister ^^;

It was all a matter of proving Christianity & Hinduism both have indistinct lines of doctrine and dharma. Like...Christianity isn't fully monotheistic and Hinduism can be monotheistic...but both are probably henotheistic. But Hinduism incorporates so much into it (it's called a "tent religion") that any religion is okay to certain Hindus. Christianity can basically stand as is and be considered a form of Hinduism.

Well, that's not a good summary; hopefully I said it better throughout the paper ^^;;

Thanks for humoring me! :P

Can you send it to me? I'd love to read it. I don't know half as much as I would like to about religion.

Actually, Catholics are the easiest branch to cross over into Hindu territory (what with the cult of saints, the sacraments, the Nicene Creed, and whatnot). Both religions can be interpreted as being Henotheistic (having one supreme power and then multiple minor deities that can be venerated [venerated, not worshiped or in Catholic terminology: venerated v. adored]). Well proving that both have the same theism is half the battle. nothing says that either's supreme entity cannot be the same. Westerners--even non-Christians--associate "God" with the one written about in the Bible but why can that not be the same one that is considered to be Brahman or Visnu (to Vaisnavites) or whoever the particular strand of Hindu teaching suggests? The answer: no reason.

Anyway, I wrote 21 pages of breaking down the barrier between the two. You can read it if you want. If you're bored. haha I find it quite fascinating but 21 is probably excessive.

There's no reason to believe that their religion is the only true religion. They misunderstand their own religion in that way and need to either read the Bible (something few Christians actually understand) or realize that the only reason they believe things now is because it is doctrine made by humans. For example, I have a lot of trouble with the Trinitarian Debate which decided that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the same thing. There is no proof of this in the Bible at all. But because it was decided as such at the Council of nicaea, it is considered dogma. The Bible and Christianity itself have room for a lot more interpretation but people are ignorant. Humans have made it seem like Christianity is the one true religion (as well as Muslims for Islam, and so forth) but in the end that's all it is: beliefs that are really just something fabricated by people who will never know but those things have been taken too seriously. nobody knows. I only offer proof that there is a possibility that religion is more open that ( ... )

Religion is fascinating :P Especially if you are impartial ^^;; After I wrote to you I realized I could have insulted you; I hope I didn't. I didn't get the impression you were very religious so I allowed myself to let loose. Sorry if circumstances are otherwise ^^;;
