What do you do with a BA in English? pokemeiser April 19 2005, 15:01:16 UTC
Hey Kat, long time no see!

Glad you're doing well, save from the sickness and all. Just a few major related questions, are you focusing in Creative Writing? That's what I'm aiming for, but with like 8 days before registering classes and there being a max of 8 spots in each class, I doubt I'll get into them. Are you taking a minor? Does Eng 304 count for anything (I really wanted to take it, but didn't think it fit any of the English requirements). And finally, only because I've been pondering it for forever, what are you planning to do with said English Degree?

Don't feel obligated to answer these, but I'm still a Freshman and thus entitled to ask. :P Hope things continue to go over well and good luck with your class registration.

Eh Steve. Have you met with an English advisor yet? If you haven't I have some information printed out in a format that's easy to understand concerning what counts for the major and what you need to take. I couldn't get into a writing class until Spring sophomore year, so don't worry about getting those done quickly. Your best bet there is to pick one or two that you really want to take and try to get into those each semester, then fill in the other spot with a high-enrollment class, with the other 3 credits being your capstone. My focus is in creative writing, but i'm taking scientific and technological writing, for instance, to help fill the focus area. Give me a call or stop by sometime soon and I'll show you what I've got and try to help you out.

Thanks, I think I have the sheet, but didn't see said class on it, but I realized that you need a certain number of 300+ level classes, which I just learned the other day, but I shall stop by sometime, I promise. :P
