it's Easter. went to bed last night around 9, woke up around 2:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. i think i'm gonna drive home for the day here in a minute. sometimes you just need to go home, and Easter's one of them ( Read more... )

It was still a noble sacrifice, despite him knowing it would all turn out okay in the end.

By the way, have you seen this recent news of the Gospel of Judas? According to scripture that was supposedly cut from the Bible and recently found, Jesus told Judas to sell him out because it was the only way to fulfill the prophecy. Judas, being Jesus's best friend and the only one who really understood, accepted this as a sacrifice for his friend, knowing he would be eternally condemned for it.

Interesting stuff, true or not.

yeah, supposedly Judas was the only disciple Jesus called friend. being passover night, when Jesus told him at the last supper to do what he had to do, the rest of the disciples would've just thought He meant to go get stuff prepared for the festivities the next day. there's a whole line of thought about whether or not Judas was a traitor in the traditional sense, or if Jesus just picked him to do the inevitable task of turning him over to the romans. after all, if no one had sold him out, then there would be no point in God coming to earth (save to heal a couple of cripples).
