Wow, this is some fucked up shit. It's not that they denied him for using marijuana, it's the fact that he was using medical marijuana, as in he was using it legally that makes me rage at this.

i saw an episode of house the other day, and they would have rejected a women who needed a heart becuase she was belimic and a cutter.

The reasons they put restrictions on who gets transplants is becuase the extreme lack of them. But dont worry to much. Synthetic transplants for all organs and tissues are only 5 "progessive" years away. (progressive, meaning that as long as there isnt an idiot in power to block scientific discovery, we are set)

With an influx of possible transplants the restrictions will go down.

honeslty, it will probably get to the point were we can take our own dna and clone whatever we need, based on our genetic make up. thus allowing for zero rejection.

I can understand the bulimic and cutter thing, as she was physically abusing her body.
The fact that this was actual legally prescribed marijuana is my problem with it. Basically, this guy's doctor prescribes him medical marijuana to treat him, and then later, another doctor denies him a transplant because of what the previous doctor prescribed him.
Somewhere along the line, a doctor screwed this guy over. You can decide which one did it.

I'm actually amazed that cigarette smokers aren't alredy denied heart transplants, though I guess the thing with cigarette smoking being so prevalent would cause a ton of people to become severely butthurt if they did that.
