A Post About Les Mis before I go to my 4:00.

Oh my gosh there's an M-rated crossover between Les Mis and Torchwood.  But it's in German.
Summary: "Torchwood/Les Miserables-Crackfic-Crossover, in den Hauptrollen Javert, Valjean, Owen Harper und Janet the Weevil, J/VJ-Slash, TW-Spoiler für Season 2"

YES THAT'S RIGHT. Valjean, Javert, Owen, and JANET THE WEEVIL.  WHY CAN'T I SPEAK BETTER GERMAN.

Montparnasse does seem to come out pretty well attired in Shoujo Cosette! I agree - hair, tailcoat...I wonder if it's because he's meant to look like a fashionplate, and that's one of the main means by which we can visualise their costuming?

And giggles over the fandom lately as well...I'm half planning a Jehan and skull Halloween pic, just to keep the ball (or skull) rolling on that front.

I've happily resolved the question of Enjolras' flirtatiousness now that it's been pointed out he's obviously attracted to Prouvaire's Saint Just-like haircut.

This comment provoked yet another bout of me laughing and being unable to explain the joke to my friends... man, now I just feel kinda sorry for them because they're just missing out.

Seriously, visiting Abaissé has become the high point of my day. I've never giggled as much due to the internet without the influence of Conan O'Brien or something like that.

And I only ever managed to see the first nine episodes of Shoujo Cosette--with Italian subs--so I'm rather distraught (and always am) that I never got the chance to "meet" this Montparnasse, as it were. I only know him through pictures and other peoples' fanvids, but I do know that he's wonderful... probably. Heck, knowing my luck he'll have a squeaky voice or something.

The conversations have me totally walking around with a grin as well -sometimes at inopportune moments. Did I tell you about the day I was walking around with a huge smirk and the receptionist said to me that one day she was going to ask what was going through my head to bring on that expression? I responded that she'd be sorry she asked...and told her all about Strip-Whist ( ... )

I really want to do a few keyboard smashes of appreciation but I'm on a loaner while mine gets wiped... again...

BUT. I watched the first half of that episode 35 and I had one of my loud dramatic squeeing fits complete with covering my mouth with both hands, flailing all over the futon, and punching a pillow repeatedly. And all he did was stand there. On the bright side, I have two friends on the hall who are great at Japanese. One was sitting next to me as I watched that and whenever I got confused she was able to translate for me. It was delightful.

I'm totally going to be watching the rest of those soon.

I love so many of Shoujo Cosette's character designs. Those Parnasse sleeves and hair are both awesome. And some of the crackiness is just - wow. (Enjolras vs. fangirls is one of the best things ever.)

Fandom is having a delightful flowering of geeky hilarity. It'll dry up again eventually, then we'll find it again in a couple years and LOL because Jean Prouvaire drinking out of skulls will never fail to be awesome.

If only I could speak German. Then I could understand all those annoyingly German musicals.

I did study German freshman year, which resulted in the ability to pick out words and all that. It's also a lot easier for me to learn the lyrics in those German musicals because once I know what the words are I can relate them to the English and remember them... or something...

You know, when I took the class I had no idea why I was doing it, seeing how I'm a French major... it was a year and a half later that I first started fangirling Máté and, through him, Elisabeth and Tanz der Vampire...

... I studied German for a year when I was 13, so that probably didn't help me very much. The only things I remember from that are my teacher's Scottish accent and the phrase "in der Stadt". (I spent most of the lesson time mucking around and pranking the teacher and/or sleeping.)

German's kinda close to English, so I find it quite easy to memorise a load of German lyrics (or I dunno, maybe the same reason as yours, only I don't think I ever knew what the words were) - what I can't do is memorise Hungarian musicals stuff. *shiver*

Shoujo Cosette's rendition of Montparnasse is awesome. I'm sad that I didn't watch it long enough to meet him. Is it still on Youtube?

The fandom is in the most beautiful place ever right now.

I've been hunting for a decently-subbed version of Shoujo Cosette my whole dang life. Well, that's not true, but it has been at least two years. BigR taught me the magic of sharing .avi files by sending me the first ten episodes with Italian subs (with my French and the fact that I know the story backwards and forwards I *just* barely understood) but we couldn't find any more after that...
