Welcome back! What a dreadful thing to go through, especially when your so far from home. Why do you have to take an eleven hour train journey after your flight? I understand why you wouldn't mention that in your desperation to get home but if they are concerned over just the flight maybe you can try to minimize any possible risks on your journey. At the very least maybe get special travel socks/stockings and stand up & walk regularly. 11 hours on a train sound completely insane though! Are there no connection flights you can get on?
Oh god I KNEW the painful breathing wasn't normal! By the way, my lady, you were extremely lucky you were diagnosed soon enough! I have a cousin (about 26 years old) who had a pulmonary embolism after a 10-hour plane trip and also to blame on birth control. Very similar onset: fainted soon after she arrived, had mild trouble breathing, avoided the doctor... one night she stopped breathing and her husband had to call up an ambulance. She was in the hospital for three months! The first two weeks doctors warned her mom they were afraid she wouldn't make it
