So what's the problem here?

Um, wow, yet again I am in the minority of the Whoniverse.  One of few fans who prefers RTD to Moffat and now I'm apparently the only person on the whole internet who absolutely loved Let's Kill Hitler.  I had to pause the episode three times from laughing so hard.  It's the first episode of the Moffat era that I was able to watch and then ( Read more... )

I don't watch Who anymore, but I saw some of the hubbub about it on tumblr. I mean, for me, I just get uncomfortable with how they do (they in meaning the media in general, not specifically just "Doctor Who" the show) do WWII stuff. I wasn't fond of the concept of "Inglorious Basterds" either. In regards to this stuff it's a YMMV kinda thing.

Oh, I know tons of people who prefer RTD to Moffat. You don't have to feel so alone there :)

Seeing all the tumblr posts makes me feel like a bad person but ugh, I laughed SO HARD. The thing is, people who actually explain WHY they didn't like the episode or aren't very excited about it have a valid points and I don't disagree with them at the slightest but I just can't bring myself to...care would be a bad word because I care, I just can't bring myself to hate on something overall good. People were usually talking about the fact Moffat shouldn't be reducing Hitler to a joke (which alone isn't that of a problem as much as people who don't get it's not just a joke and ugh, there was this one post "you know you're a whovian when you hate Hitler because he shot River" and ugh, this is exactly why people who think about it don't like serious things reduced to jokes and I'm proud people of Hogwarts tumblr told that person to GTFO) but this episode is far away from tasteless humour. I grew up in a place where about 50% of kids were most likely to have lost part of their family thanks to nazis and yet they all joked in the worst way ( ... )

See I prefer Moffat but I didn't hate RTD! I just like Moff's plots better. XD

AND I REALLY REALLY LIKED THIS EPISODE A LOT. SO MUCH RORY AND ELEVEN BEING AWESOME AND I DON'T HATE RIVER LIKE I USED TO, CLEARLY THERE IS PLENTY OF GOOD IN THIS EPISODE.

(also lol @ the gay gypsy bart mitzvah for the disabled.)

My biggest problem with it was how did Mel age at the same rate as Rory and Amy if she's got timelord in her DNA?
