Can I use regular old Quaker Oats or do I have to buy some other kind (I've seen it say the thicker the oats the better on a few sites)?

You can use Quaker. In general tho, the "steel cut oatmeal" oats are the best bc of their high fiber content and bc they are less "processed" than Quaker. For upping lactation tho, Quaker is fine.

I never used Brewer's Yeast. You may be mixing me up with someone else :)

All I did to up my supply: pump like mad, take fenugreek, drink mother's milk tea, drink a ton of water and eat oatmeal :)

To make the cookies I used the old-fashioned rather than the quick (I made them for this time so I don't know how well they work)

Last time I ate instant quaker in the morning and bought oatmeal granola bars and store-bought oatmeal cookies like they were going out of style.

Thank you! Where did you find the Brewer's Yeast? I just went to two different stores and came out empty handed.

I got my brewer's yeast at an organic health food store. It was with the dietary supplements. The brewers yeast is what is key to the cookies.

I hear the steel cut oats work a bit better, but I use the generic whole oats.

I know you already got your question answered, but want to add Ben & Jerry's oatmeal ice cream worked for me!
