I bet this corresponds with the other major spoiler that came out a while ago. The writers know that L/B's relationship is the real deal, so hopefully they won't steer into a bad direction.
However, raised stakes will probably result in some sort of evil cliffhanger.
This makes me nervous only because I don't want to deal with a cliffhanger again lol. I don't think my heart can handle it. I assume whatever tension there is might be around the second to last/last episode of the season.
I'm positive they won't break up again though, so at least there's that.
Same here. Renewed. Airs in September. Couple of hour long episodes. And maybe the cliffhanger is like really obvious like Will President Bartlet Run for Reelection and it's pretty much a given with that hand signal.
I know LK is the protagonist and this season is all about her campaign, but there haven't been many other people spoilers. What if the cliffhanger is Ron/Chris/Ann/April/Andy related?
Maybe the new "tension" in their relationship could be due to Ben's finances. It wouldn't surprise me if Leslie told him to pay himself a "fair wage" out of the donations that come in to her campaign, nor would it surprise me if Ben decided a "fair wage" would be $0 and he's been living off of savings this whole time.
So maybe by the end of the season he'll reveal that he's almost broke.
That could put a big burden of guilt on Leslie that he's been working basically full-time for free, and she might feel pressure to ask him to move in for financial reasons rather than because she feels emotionally ready for that step. Or Ben might feel pressure to take the first new job that comes along, even if it's at odds with his/Leslie's long-term goals. That's the kind of "huge ramifications" that Schur might be talking about.
(So basically this sounds more like a plot-bunny for fic than anything else, so if anyone wants to write it, have at it.)
That is a great theory. It would play into the spoiler about a potential job offer.
Or maybe it's the other way around. Ben's been getting that paper by working for the campaign and siphoning funds. That's implausible, but it just strikes me as kind of funny.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ben were offered a job by the lovely Kathryn Hahn (i.e. her character) that would take him decidedly away from Pawnee and Leslie. It probably is an awesome opportunity to run/be part of campaigns on a larger scale. The tension comes from him having to decide and Leslie feeling guilty because this would be the second career thing he'd be giving up to be with her. I wouldn't even be surprised if he took it in the season finale leaving us in a bit of a lurch for the summer...just think of all the fics! It would be an interesting way to complicate their relationship (in this scenario Ben only goes for a few months to work on a specific campaign, always intends to come home, and they don't break up) and not lose Adam Scott screen time. It can all take place over the summer and we start the season with Ben returning after being away for a summer. It doesn't break them up, but it is a situation ripe with possible conflict.
This possibility has occurred to me, too. I think it might be interesting, but I'm wonder if they're less likely to do this since this is much of the same creative team behind "The Office" and they did pretty much this exact storyline with Pam and Jim once they got together.
Ah, first of all I don't get why this effing awesome show is not renewed for another 150 years, I wanna watch it when I'm one hundred and eighty something. And I don't mind any cliffhangers, the bigger the better (unless they are threatening the LB heaven), because I'm sure we will be reading lots of lovely fic during the summer holidays. From what I read I think it's C who's going to end up in DC (which bums me out, I'm a huge fan of him, every time I feel sad, I just need to watch the part when he's imitating the banjo and I'm happy for a week - healthiest drug of my life). And I don't see Ben leaving Pawnee, I think he really loves living there (and not just because of Leslie), on the other hand I want to see some episodes about Partridge, Minnesota, so I don't mind him (them?) going back there for one reason or another. (Mayoral elections probably?).
