I've never Ben so confident, so cocky. He reminds me Will Arnett a bit in that respect. I like that the nerds love the flags and that as much as Leslie wants to share them, she doesn't want him to hold the Mauritania flag.
I was wondering if Ben getting pissy about the photo op - which Leslie took too long at and maybe should have done at the end of the event - was less about her abandoning their friendship times and more about how Model UN strikes such a chord with his nerdy self (I think I could argue this with the apology to the students at the end because they almost thought they could do it again). I hope his attitude towards Barnes and the photoshooot isn't indicative of how he'll behave in the future concerning Leslie's political career.
I was thinking that maybe teenage Ben, before the mayor debacle, was nerdy but also a bit cocky (he did run for mayor, after all), and Ben was channeling a bit of that teenaged cockiness last night, remembering a time from his past when he felt in his element, before it all went to hell ... and also in an arena where he could have a chance to stand toe-to-toe with the great Leslie Knope, in contrast to the current situation, where she's off being awesome and he's being left behind. (Wow, was that like the longest run-on sentence ever?)
I really don't think the attitude was how he'd behave concerning her future. It was more about him making an effort to be friends, feeling happy with her for a moment, and then being smacked over the head again with the reason they had to break up, feeling hurt all over again that he wasn't important to her. If they were a couple, I can't imagine anyone being more supportive of Leslie's political career. But he's human, so he feels hurt by being shoved aside, too.

Also, that was one of the more amazing evil laughs I've ever heard. As the great Dr. Horrible once said, "A lot of guys ignore the laugh, and that's about standards."
I have to nitpick the show a little bit--apparently the 763 area code wasn't created until 2000, so technically it wouldn't have been Ben's childhood area code.
God damn. This video made me love him even more. From the ridiculous cocky nerdiness to the geeking out over flags, to "NOBODY CARES FRANCE" and oh my god the Evil Laugh...Ben Wyatt, you have my heart.

"Nobody cares, France!" is great, but I'm still partial to "Shut up, Bulgaria."
