I prefer the non-blurry option. It looks great, and really matches the feel of the story.

Yeah, that's the one I think I prefer. I like it harsher looking and the blur is sort of weird anyway.

Hee, I'm glad the first one is being well-received. I do like that one (I almost wasn't going to do a choice post, because right after I uploaded them to photobucket I realized that I really like the first one a lot).

I love it! It's dark and pretty and meaningful. I also like the first one better.

And the sketchiness WORKS. I know it doesn't always look good, but for the purpose you wanted, it works, because it's all rough and messy and then there's Nina's almost perfect face and I think this is how Don sees the world.

Yeah, I totes went with the first one. I think the harshness works well.

Awww, thank you. I really don't do much like this, I'm all about clean lines and things being perfectly clear. But this story is different enough that I felt I had to change something, and I've been digging squeakyorm's style on that fancomic, so I wanted to attempt something similar.

I like both but I also like the one you ended up choosing the cover art. Do you use Painter for your digital stuff?

I use Photoshop Elements 3, I think? It might be 4? It's the version that came with my wacom tablet.

My philosophy is that when in doubt, you should always hit it with a little gaussian blur.

But actually I like the unblurred one better.

Ditto! It's a fun philosophy! I did it here: http://SquirrelTamer.deviantart.com/art/KH-Black-Balloon-119736745

That's the one I went with.
