I've totally been unfriended for disagreeing with one of my friends and pointing out her political bias in the umbridge she was taking with Obama's remarks today.

I'm not sure how to respond.

On one hand I am shocked she unfriended me (she is not a timid woman and has never held back with her political opinions on my journal), on the other hand it

It happens. I unfriended someone because of her pro-circumcision stance the other year. I mean, she's entitled to her baby maiming, genital mutilating opinion... no, wait, she's not. Humph. If I could unfriend her twice, I would! I've lost my point. My point is, sometimes it happens. Sometimes, you just have to think someone's entitled to their freedom of speech, but they can do it on their own time, ya know?

I have no idea what Obama said the other day that would cause a friend to unfriend someone. Are/were they friends in real life or online? Sometimes having a good political discussion can be very eye openning for both parties. But to go off in a snit is just closed minded.

Dunno, you'd have to ask Lerah the status of the relationship.

If she can't handle political discussions, the exfriend would be better not to enter into them. It would save so much flouncing.

She was upset because he was making closing remarks at a conference on Indian Affairs. So he thanked the cabinate member from the Department of the Interior who organized the conference, he gave a "shout out" to the Congressional Medal of Honor winner that participated, and then he gave his assurance that the work they'd done durning the conference would not be forgotten
