LJ sent me a notice my paid account is expiring soon. Why do they do this AFTER I've spent pretty much the majority of my paycheck?? Now I have to hope I can make it without renewing until my next paycheck. Grr

Ben Silverman is the crappiest NBC exec ever. WTF says that to the press? I've had enough loved shows canceled so that this one won't hurt so much...but still, how can a show that's head and shoulders above most of the entertainment on tv always be on the bubble? :P I guess if Ben Silverman had his way, the network would run nothing except "30 Rock" and "American Gladiators" *sigh*
That was my thought too. I mean really, he didn't even attempt to hide his contempt for the show it seemed to me. He just totally passed it over. And while I do find 30 Rock funny, it's certainly not a favorite show for me. He just really irritated a lot of FNL fans I think.
That seems so unfair that you're getting excluded from commencement! I know at my university you could still walk in the spring even if you were finishing up your degree in the summer, and June 30th is a heck of a lot closer to May than to December. Hmph.
I'll be really disappointed if FNL gets canceled, but NBC has been holding the axe over it for so long that honestly, sometimes I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has.
June 30th is a heck of a lot closer to May than to December. I KNOW! Doesn't it just make more sense to finish it all off in May, in terms of commencment. I think I'm going to try to appeal to the graduation office, see if it's possible that I can walk. It's worth a shot any way.
sometimes I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has. I know, isn't it sad? there are a couple of shows I cannot believe are still on but yet somehow keep making it year after year, but not a well written and engaging show like FNL.
That resume thing is weird. I had to do a lot of strange stuff before getting my MA, but I don't recall a resume.
Though not being able to walk sucks. I technically graduated in August 06 because I had to be a "student" that summer to teach a class as a TA (and to take a class for certification, the program I did after my MA), but they still let me walk in April. Now that I think about it, a lot of the people in my program would technically graduate in the summer (due to similar teaching situations or incompletes) but always walked in April. Hmmm...I didn't know Pitt was being nice. A point for Pitt (one of its few, haha)
And you know, I guess I wouldn't mind so much about the resume if they told me why they needed it so much. It's not like I'm applying to a job with the school so I guess I consider my work background private unless a future employer is looking at it. Does that make me irrational?
And your situation makes so much sense! It's kind of like where I will be at. I'll have to finish two classes, between May 15-June 30 but then I'll be done with classes period. Why won't they just let me participate in the spring ceremony and be done with it all?
I know! I just want to get everything over with in one fell swoop you know, not be stuck having this hanging over me for more months.
I hope it doesn't get cancelled either. This season has gotten so much better recently, once they've moved past the melodrama of creating too much drama (murder!).
