Au Revoir Lorelais!

As seen at janetmaca's journal.

Gilmore Girls Series FinaleI love this show. I truly do. This season has had its ups and downs but for the most part, I really enjoyed it. I'm not surprised this is its last season nor am I all that sad I guess. I just hope they do it justice. For me anyway, it's time to say good-bye to the Gilmore Girls. It will always be a ( Read more... )

It is time, I think, for this, though I'm a bit sadder and more nostalgic about it than I thought I would. I had been thinking we would get this news, but now that it's out there, it makes me more sad than I thought it would. I really love this show so much and even though after the first 3 seasons, things changed, it did always make me feel good and happy to watch it and it just makes me sad to miss that.

I think I knew too that it was coming, the end was near. I know what you mean though. There are so many great things about this show that no other show will ever replace. I know I will probably be crying hard on its series finale.

I have to admit that I was a little relieved when I saw that news -- I've really lost interest in the show lately, and haven't even watched the last few episodes, but I do still care enough to see its goodbye. I remember Amy Sherman-Palladino saying that she's known what she wants the last moment to be, so I just hope that even though she's not attached to the show anymore, we'll still get the ending that she pictured.

Me too, though not for your reasons I guess. I have been keeping up and enjoying it, but I just think it's time for it to end. It's had a pretty good run over all and might as well end it on as high of a note as possible.

I agree too about ASP's ideas for the ending. I hope those ideas can be worked in and acknowledged because ASP is definitely one of the reasons this show was so great to begin with.

I do think the show has run it's course, but I'm still sad about it. I haven't loved it since Jess left, but it is definitely a show in a category all it's own. I hope it has a nice send off. I guess it's safe to say my Rory/Jess reunion isn't going to happen, though.

AGREED! There is definitely no show quite like it on tv, nor will there ever be again. Stars Hollow and its citizenry were definitely in a class by itself.

(and now that I keep talking about it, I am becoming sad and nostalgic.) Like you, I hope for a nice send off, though I do think the Rory/Jess reunion is out of the picture, lol. Unfortunately.

I'm ready to say goodbye too. I'm sad because I always loved it, but as of late my interest has decreased, and the quality has slipped. So I do see that it's time to let it go, even if it is a little sad.

Yeah, the quality has slipped. It's had a pretty good run overall but I think it's time for us all to just say good-bye. I still keep hoping for a somewhat believable Luke and Lorelai ending though.

Me too, me too. I'll hate it if the show doesn't end with them together. That's what was set up from the effing pilot, and it would hurt my soul to not have it happen.

Amen to that. Like you said, since season 1 it was obvious they should be together so all I have to say is let it be so!

(I'm not going to click the link, tempting as it is, because I want to try and stay spoiler-free... But here are my two cents worth anyway:)

I completely agree! I have always loved Gilmore Girls ever since I discovered it at the end of the first season, and now I own all of the seasons on DVD. I'm sad it's ending, but I think it's time - it's had a long run, which is wonderful for the show. I've been expecting it to be ending around now, so I'm not too disappointed...

Er, sorry, I'm getting off topic. I just agree that I'm ready for it to end (as much as I would love to see more, too), I just really hope they do it well. I've always been scared that the network would cut it off without giving the writers a chance to conclude all the storylines for the fans - a satisying ending... That being said, I also hope the writers do a good storyline and hopefully stick to what Amy Sherman-Palladino (sp?) had in mind. The only thing I really want to see (no matter how unrealistic or probable) is Luke and Lorelai married, heehee. I am a die ( ... )

Like you, I'm hoping for a strong L/L ending. They are, as much as Rory and Lorelai, the heart of the show and have been set up since season one as "THE COUPLE." I'll be very disappointed if there isn't a satisfying conclusion for them. I'd gladly take boyfriend and girlfriend at this point, especially considering there doesn't seem time to have them suddenly marry.

As for Rory, I hope she makes her own path. The promos seem to be setting it up that she may become engaged to Logan, but I'd like her to concentrate on her own life first I think.

I don't mind the tangent! I like talking about Gilmore Girls.
