Every time I read a story like this, I get sad.

Anne Frank's father tried to get to U.S.Honestly, it just make me cry. And it's not just the famous Frank family. So many Jews, romany, and other nationalities under persecution tried to escape during those years to the US with little success. It's really horrible how the US government treated these people in need. I had this awesome book at one ( Read more... )

This is like the third time I'm retyping this entry, somehow lj is being weird. For a second there I feared you had somehow deleted your journal as I couldn't get on your journal.

But yeah, I remember reading/hearing about this last week too, that they were gonna publish it and now they did. And that's just really sad. I don't know much about the subject, but yeah, just sad :(

LOL! All of a sudden three comments from you popped into my inbox and I was all excited but then they were repeats and I was confused. But thanks for explaining. I don't know why LJ goes wonky sometimes. I often try to comment and I get a weird comment-stat post missing or something and it's all like.. huh??

I wrote a senior paper about what and how much the U.S. knew about the Holocaust while it was going on before we entered the war. :( It's devastating to think how many lives we could have saved.
