An idea

I have an idea for a children's toy. I don't want to go into details. But it needs to be made. It'll be somewhat fun, and potentially vastly educational. Sadly, I cannot just go and make it.

Now I need to try to figure out how I can get it made.

Antwon's your guy-- his family used to own a plastic toy manufacturing company (before they re-tooled for the modern era....)

Umm.... I think his username is antwon, but I'm not sure. That's what it is on NaNoWriMo....

Getting it made is one thing. Marketing it will be another.

Getting sold in WalMart will be the ultimate accomplishment, but would probably mean that you'd have to pay them ten cents per toy sold or whatever.

It'd need to be made by a real toyc ompany... it's too difficult for me to just sit down and make. Thus, they'd probably have marketing people. But I could give lists of reasons why it would be good for kids and helpful.

Oh, I imagined it would be made my a company.

And yes, a big company would probably be able to market it; I just wasn't sure whether you'd be able to market it to a big company such as Hasbro or the like -- and if you get a smallish, maybe local, company to make it, they might not have as many distribution outlets.

I've no idea how much it takes to get a company to accept a new idea, but I imagine that the larger and more successful a company is, the harder it is to get them to look at your concept.

I don't think a small company would work... it'd require a bit too much technical design work. I'm not really sure though - it's not my field. I'll mull over my options for a bit.
