Excessive Shedding?

I would hesitate to jump right to an endocrine disorder if she's acting normal in all other ways, especially if she's not losing weight. Other things that can cause excessive shedding are skin damage (shedding may increase in frequency until the damage is repaired) or mites.

I would keep an eye on it for a month or two, if any other symptoms pop up (weight loss, changes in poo, lethargy, etc.) or if it keeps happening for that long, take her to the vet. Make sure she's getting enough food, though, since shedding does take a lot of energy.

My girl (now about 15, was probably 11 or 12 at the time) shed every two weeks with no other symptoms for a couple of months a while back. She eventually went back to normal, I never did manage to find out what caused it, but it didn't seem to hurt her and she's fine now.

Up
