The lowdown on our trip to Florida

Jun 16, 2008 11:17

Well, my sister Marielle got married Friday. Chris and I flew to FL on Thursday, courtesy of my mom, since we couldn't afford it, and driving was out of the question thanks to the Focus being in bad shape.

MiL had said she was going to drive us to PHL airport, but on Thursday morning she went into one of her shrieking fits about her being the duty ( Read more... )

She uses it all the time when she's in her hysterics. I swear I want to say three or four choice things but I'm not that dumb; not saying it while we have to live here, anyway.

OMG....makes me glad the next trip I take is up to the Cities for a concert (gotta see my Boys).

At least you don't have to deal with a future MIL who goes into tirades when someone looks at her funny. She goes into making odd noises, looks and ranting about how no man will ever cause her to not do what she wants and on and on she'll go, even if no one is paying any attention to her. I say she needs major psycho-therapy as she's very traumatized from her father beating her mom when she was little. Jesse says she just needs to live in the now, not in the past.

Don't worry though, whenever Jesse proposes and we get married, we having the wedding and reception at the family farm, so no issues with noise! :D Though weather might be a factor lol

"... she just needs to live in the now, not in the past."

That is exactly my MiL's problem. She goes on and on and on about shit my FiL did or didn't do thirty years ago or more. WHO. CARES.

Traveling sucks! When people think of travel they always think of those big comfy seats in the plane (no one ever flies coach in movies huh?) and the fabulous destinations. They never think of all the waiting around and the rude bitches that run the drink cart in the unfriendly skies...I'm hoping our flights home aren't as ahrd as the ones here...

Coach? More like cattle car, honey :p at least on the flight back I got the aisle seat. And yeah, it's true, nobody ever has this kind of trouble in the movies, even when it's a movie about bad travel.

I hope the trip to Merrie Olde England is good for you *HU

Gurlfriend ~

First aplogies for not arriving here to read this delightfully written account of your trip until now. The Sea in Iowa seems to have been running over and my boat would not float!! lol

I LOVE all the complications of travel ~ and I am beginning to rethink a possible relocation to another country ~ when travelling the complications entertain and help stretch the mind and the psyche!!

Glad you returned with all that extra baggage!! ~ soft smiles ~

Hugs and Loves ~

I don't mind the complications at all, it's part of the adventure. I just wish Chris were a little more open-minded about dealing with setbacks.
