20 Facts Fic (Maxie Jones)

Sep 27, 2007 07:13

duchessofavalon and melonfusion have been writing such awesome 20 Facts, I had to try my own. Maxie is a weird character for me, because I have such strong ties to both the Robyn Richards and Kirsten Storms characters, and almost consider them to be separate, but I did my best to marry them together.

~Maxie wishes she could tell Mac how much she loves him, how grateful she is for him, how much she appreciates all he’s given up for her and Georgie and Robin. But that’s a tall bill. And she’ll never be able to pay back all those early morning drives to figure-skating and dance and help with her homework and this large, rugged man crouching down to play tea party and dolls and make up with her. So she keeps quiet.

~Lucky wasn’t her first crush. Stone was. When she was five, she asked Robin if she wanted to marry Stone. Before Robin could answer her, Maxie interrupted, “Please say no, because I want to!”

~She wants Coop in her head and nobody else. She wants so badly to just be happy.

~The first time she heard John Mayer’s “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room”, she thought of Zander Smith and just couldn’t hold back the tears.

~Georgie means everything to her. No guy will ever be able to top that. Maybe that’s why she flaunted her T&A in front of Logan Hayes and threw Lulu in his face- it made her skin crawl, the way he watched her baby sister.

~Robin is, and always has been, Maxie’s hero.

~Part of her mad obsession with Lucky, part of what loving Jesse was all about- shit, even part of what drew her to Zander- was some sort of warped hero complex. She needs an older, stronger guy to take care of her- call it a daddy issue. That’s why when her handsome cardiologist- dark, sexy Dr. Leo- tells her he’s going to save her heart, she knows she’s in trouble.

~She’s a little jealous of Georgie and Robin. They always had so much in common- their interests, their demeanor, the way the genuinely cared about people and vice versa. If Maxie didn’t know them so well, she would think they were fake. And she would hate them. But they love her. And that’s enough to make her special, and that’s enough for her.

~She’s more than a little jealous of Lulu Spencer- her mother couldn’t be with her. Maxie’s mother left.

~Over the years, Dr. Quartermaine has tried to prepare her to be ready for another transplant. “Most secondary organs last for five years,” she’s told her, more than once. But that won’t happen with Maxie. She knows that if she loses BJ’s heart, she’ll die. All these years, BJ is what keeps her human.

~Kyle calls her whenever he’s home for spring break or summer break or Christmas break or just to get his laundry done. He always takes her out and makes her feel good about herself. She thinks he wishes they could try again, but there’s too much water under the bridge. How the tables have turned.

~When she was thirteen, she went through the typical teenaged rebellion and started hating Mac. She made elaborate plans to run away and find her father. She was sure that somewhere in the house, there was a drawer of letters her father had written her and Mac had kept hidden. And there was a drawer- with two letters in it. Two. In eight years.

~Sometimes she feels guilty for how much she doesn’t think about Jesse. It’s not because she didn’t love him. But she’s just lost too many people, and it hurts to think of them all the time.

~She misses her Uncle Tony most of all. She was always so obviously his favorite. It was different than it was with Mac- he had to love her and Georgie and Robin equally, so it was nice to be special. Even if she was just a substitute.

~She hates her mother. She doesn’t understand how she could have just left them. It’s confusing to hate someone who she also loves with all her heart.

~She hates her father.

~She liked Jason okay when he first started dating Robin. Really, she was too young to have an opinion. Mac got shot Maxie’s freshman year of high school, and somehow, through half-closed doors and hushed voices, she found out that he was shot by one of Sonny Corinthos’ men. She can barely remember the man who took care of Stone so tenderly and from that point on, Jason is nothing more than a cold-blooded killer in her eyes. For the first time and only time in her life, Maxie is disgusted with Robin. Years later, she sees how buddied up with the mob Lulu Spencer is, and it’s all the easier to hate her.

~Coop makes her happy. Sometimes, he really does.

~Sometimes, when something good happens, when she hangs out with the kids in the PICU and hears them laugh, even though some of them are so sick they can’t even sit up, she wonders if BJ is what makes her human, or if BJ is teaching her to be human.

~Maxie’s heart is strong. It’s her living, breathing, soul, and if it doesn’t kill her, Maxie’s heart may one day make her whole.
