More questions! These from sugarpromises. Sweetie, you left me awesome and interesting questions, and I have some stupid and boring answers for some of them here...
1. I am definitely heading to Towne next time I'm in Boston. I would take down the "winter comfort" of the dinner menu alone if I could.
2. It appears the spoiler thing has gotten a bit wacky lately. Usually places are so good about giving a certain amount of time before pictures are splashed all over the place. But I guess news of new pictures spread like wild fire. I remember the Scrubs Board and how fast art would be made and how everyone's icon and signature would change immediately.
3. Little black dresses are amazing to have. They're good for everything. You can dress it up, dress it down, it's amazing.
4. I would love to get an iPhone. Boy has one and it's just so easy to use and pretty to look at. I'm using an HTC and I love it, but I'm itching for something new.
You are welcome here! Call me if you do (come to Boston)!
I do remember that about the Scrubs board and soaps in general are *horrible* about it and almost nobody has any etiquette for shielding that sort of thing. But I know that I am much more fascist about spoilers than most people are.
You know, in a few days, I'm going to ask a question either on my journal or on beforetv about shows and book series with the kind of violence content (both sexual and nonsexual) that Spartacus has. Basically, I don't want to be left out of good storytelling due to my fear of certain triggers, which for me is rape and sexual violence. If that type of thing is central to the arc for the character, is it worth gritting through it to get to the story? Ruminate on this and answer when I ask the question

Sweetie, I'm sorry I didn't properly warn for the Naevia topic. I edited the post.
But I'm unsure of what your question is. A lot of really fantastic, intriguing fiction involves some pretty terrible things that humans do to one another, and while I can find myself being appalled or saddened by what I read/watch, for the most part, I'm able to maintain enough distance from the subject that I can get through the book/movie/show. If it's something that is going to upset you more than the pleasure you would get out of reading/watching, I don't see why you should have to put yourself through it, for any reason.
You are. Oh, your fine. Talking about it is fine. I'm trying to say hearing about it, reading about it, makes me want to know about Naevia. But seeing it on screen or reading about the actual act happening - that's what is hard for me.
But if the overall story is excellent, I have to figure out what my threshold level is. So I wanted to gauge how others feel about it. Tis all. I know you can get through it. :)
I mean, being as heavily invested in it as I am, I see the humanity and the story of the show, but in the beginning, all people can see is blood and porn and it's hard for a lot of people to look past it. And it is a *very gory* show.
I will tell you though, that it's more than just what happens to Naevia. Something happened in this past episode that is being talked about *a lot* within our tiny fandom, and I can be almost certain that it's something that would bother you.
