Remember Our Words

Okay, so I meant to do a full, in depth post about True Blood this week, but I’m not going to do that. I guess I’ll try and do one when the season is over, but we’ll just have to see.

But right now, my attention is called elsewhere. I watched Game Of Thrones this week in pretty much a 24 hour period (okay…a 26 hour period) and I need to talk ( Read more... )

Jon/Dany, OTP!!!!

Haha, it is so hard to talk about this with you. But okay, statements of fact. The wildings are the people who live beyond the Wall. They have their own society and own ways of doing things, but basically they're people who just happened to be on the other side when the wall went up. I am not in the least bit surprised that your favorite non-wolf part was the Dothraki part. I'm so pleased you like Sansa. She is my favorite. Well, one of my favorites. I basically love everyone which sucks because lots of people die, but what can you do.

When are you going to start on the books?

When Big Bang is over. I'm *somewhat* back on track, and on a prayer and a song, I'm going to finish this sucker. So something to look forward to!

GAH GAH YOU HAVE A JON/DANY ICON THAT MEANS IT MUST BE REAL YOU WOULD NOT TEASE A GIRL LIKE THAT WOULD YOU.

Okay, I thought so, so wildlings are just people (like the Nymphadora Tonks) and that's just...a not nice name they call them. That mini army that Tyrion cooked up, Shogga and all them, they weren't wildlings, right?

I have pdfs of the first four if you want them. Just let me know.

WELLLLL, THAT DEPENDS ON YOUR DEFINITION OF REAL. BUT THEY ARE TOTALLY OTP, DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENTLY.

Yes, basically. And no, they're hill people, I think, but not wildlings.

MY DEFINITION OF REAL IS FAST AND LOOSE. But I need to stay off tumblr, because I'm getting overloaded on non-information there, and I don't want to buy what tumblr is selling.

Oh gosh...please tell me that Jon Snow is NOT Rhaegar, right?

I'm a nerd so I'll probably buy hardcovers. These seem to be the kinds of things you want to keep for a while. Thanks though.

I have read the first three books and am working my way through the forth so I will be sure never to give anything away. And I LOVE the television show and am a hardcore Dany/Drogo shipper but in my opinion, slowly, VERY slowly, GRRM is bringing Jon and Dany together. Fire and Ice. It's going to happen.

I have seen that you are a big Dany/Drogo shipper, and I was especially looking forward to them, because we usually like the same kinds of couples and also, they are just so visually stunning together.

OMG. Ice and Fire. This whole series is a Dany/Jon love story, isn't it?

I can't wait. I am fairly certain now, with the Ice and Fire that Dany and Jon are intimately connected.

But I loved Dany and Drogo- I am just weak for that kind of couple and I think he really helped her find her strength.

I just hate how the tv show depicted their first time...he was much more gentle in the books, and it wasn't as "rapey" if you know what I am trying to say.

Oh yeah, I wasn't too comfortable with that either, those first few episodes. But the thing here was, because I was watching it late, and a lot of people who I know are usually super sensitive to that kind of thing were all loving up on them...so I knew things would take a turn. (Same with Sansa.)

Bought the book today!

Dude. I was wondering how long it'd take you to get to G.O.T! I loved the series, just loved it. I haven't read the books yet, but I will...soonish. And I am also on your Danny/Jon ship. They would just be perfect together. I also adore Sansa...and the crack ship that's Jaime/Sansa. I love that golden haired bastard. Seriously. This fic pretty much convinced me that the Sansa and Jaime would be beautiful together: http://magisterequitum.livejournal.com/496097.html

I love random ships from obscurity.

True Blood. Can I say that I am loving Bad-Ass Bill right now? He's so much better away from Sookie than with her! AND HOLY CRAP! AS AN ERIC/SOOKIE DEVOTEE, I AM NOT HAPPY WITH HOW THIS STORY LINE IS BEING PORTRAYED. SUCK IT ALAN BALL!

But, Jason and Jessica are all kinds of pretty, except that I'm kind of ticked they boinked on the back of his truck. Poor Hoyt. I was really hoping they could resist each other and drag it out more.

I'm probably going to start somewhere around early October with reading the books, if you'd like a 'buddy'?

Bill is amazing this season. And the reason for that is...he's finally found something he's really good at, and in that, he's finally found a way to stop hating himself. I can't even compare TB to the books any more, because everything is just so wildly different, but I personally love the way E/S is being played out. I mean, yeah, you and I are going to differ. But I think it's been mostly pretty faithful to how DttW was (though it's been well over a year since I read it, it's not so fresh in my mind). The thing about Eric and Sookie that I've come to realize is that Eric was Sookie's first crush. Yeah, Bill was her first love, but she crushed hard on Eric, there's no denying that. Now...she doesn't really have Eric, it's more like an Eric-sized doll for her to play with ( ... )

I'll be the lone voice of dissent and say that I hate Sansa with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. I think she's a twit with no family loyalty and no sense, and if they had lace-up shoes in King's Landing, she wouldn't be able to tie them without help. I hold out hope that she gets better in upcoming books/seasons.

However, I'm massively on board with Jon and Danaerys. I think their respective journeys HAVE to lead them to each other.

Somewhere in the last half hour, I have convinced myself that A Song of Ice and Fire=EPIC LOVESTORY OF SNOW AND DRAGON. We shall have to see.

As far as Sansa, well I kind of had my eyes open for her, because a lot of my buddies all seem to love her, but more based on later books/upcoming stuff, so I was always kind of waiting/seeing with her. It was really the last episode where she started to show a little spine (or maybe he'll give me yours- talking about who will be beheading whom, with Joffrey and Robb), and I'm intrigued to see where that goes next year.

I liked that line of Sansa's as well, but by then I had shored up a LOT of distaste for her, so it didn't really change my opinion of her. Her idealization of Joffrey leading up to Ned's death and her treatment of Arya... I just couldn't get past it. I kept feeling like the Stark grit and intelligence skipped a sibling!

I have a whole theory about Jon, but since I'm only on the first book, I have no idea how close to the mark it is. But I'm definitely convinced he and Dany will end up married.

I'd be curious to hear your theory on Jon...but I haven't read the book yet, and probably won't start for another month...can you share?
