This Is Our Time

I just finished last week's Greek, in time for tonight's series finale. I can't believe how unenthused I am, when I used to feel all squooshy in my heart when I thought about this show. (Such opposition to Friday Night Lights, which I'm still refusing to believe is over. I know, apples and oranges ( Read more... )

Oh man, I gave up on that show a couple of seasons ago...

See, a couple of seasons ago, I loved it like mad. It's really only been this one that's been meh.

I'm not overly excited about it. I'm not really impressed with how Cappie and Casey were handled this season, (but I almost always - with very few exceptions - like unresolved sexual tension over resolved sexual tension. What the show does is NEVER as good as how I imagine/wish it could be), and I absolutely cannot stand how Evan and Rebecca have been handled. I never liked Evan and Casey together, and I can't stand when shows do that whole, "Let's tease this couple that was over a long time ago, that everyone knows isn't endgame, with no real purpose" that they've been doign the last few episodes.

And Ashleigh/Rusty. Ugh. No. Never. I'm not a fan of Rusty at all, really, and Ashleigh is really hit or miss for me, so ugh, I'll actually be glad the show is over in that respect.

And I hate that the ending - or what I assume will be Cappie and Casey's ending - has been shown in previews already. I like spoilers as much as the next fan-who-likes-spoilers, but just... no.

Seriously, you've got to imagine that that shot of Casey and Cappie ("Where are you headed?" "Wherever you're going.") is probably going to be the last LAST shot of the entire show. I say it again, way to show your hand.

I always liked Ashleigh but she very rarely had anything to do, which was kind of unfortunate. She was just around for the one-liners, it seemed. And I hate Rusty. Hate. HATE.

ICAM re: everything about Rebecca/Evan[/Casey].

This season hasn't been what I wanted, but there have been things by and by that I loved and I'm going to miss the show dreadfully. So few shows do college and do it so well, that it was a rarity.

That said, even as someone that loved Evan/Casey, the way they've handled Evan and Rebecca is awful. Beyond awful, really. They deserved better.

You know, it's just kind of a shame, for the way this show was run. I can honestly say that there wasn't a single episode that I just loved this season- the Beaver one was the best, and in all honesty, it was a throwaway filler (though Aaron Hill is always delightful and Beaver/Catherine has been this season's big bright spot). But yeah, it had just been gone too long, and there was too much build-up, and it wasn't the time to change the tone of the show.

*I* loved Evan/Casey. And if they [the writers] thought they were giving the fans a nod to their relationship...well, I just don't know...

I could not agree with you more. I've still watched, but this last season has been underwhelming and disappointing.
