I HAVE NEVER MET ANOTHER PERSON WHO CALLED THEM PONY-OS. THAT IS ALL I CALL THEM. Or all I used to call them until everyone started giving me weird looks so I converted to hair elastics, but seriously. PONY-OS ARE THE NAME OF MY HEART.

I think I missed that we were just talking about the elastic bands (as opposed to any hair band). I don't use the elastic ones, cloth-covered or not, because I have a lot of hair, and that's never pretty, so I ALWAYS use a scrunchie, hence it being my default. I guess I call them "hair bands," when I sit down to think about it. THIS IS REALLY INTERESTING TO ME.

As a linguist, I sincerely find this riveting.

I call them hair elastics. I associate "hair ties" with Americans. "Elastic bands" is completely unacceptable -- elastic bands are rubber and are not to be put in your hair. I've heard "ponytail holders" and don't know what I associate it with. Maybe Americans.

I can only assume Pony-O's is a brand?

Truer words never spoken...

This might be a stupid question at this point, but...where are you from? I remember you helped me with Farsi, one time...

Pony-o's is just what my mother and aunties called them when I was little, so it stuck with me :)

lolz.

uhm. Well, I was born and raised in Canada. My parents are from Iran so I learned Farsi at home. And at the moment I live in France :P

and that's sweet.
