I had this frustrating fight with the ex-wife on the phone Saturday after she read a letter I gave her when the kids went home. ( A little summary about the letter. )

Oh, no lawyer necessary - she'll insist that I can take the kids "whenever I want". I still always see them on Saturday all day, and they live so close that the oldest sometimes walks over to visit when she feels like it. (The others will too as they get older, I'm sure.) At some point I may start up again seeing them a little on some weeknights, but that's going to be a "sometimes we do" thing, rather than "every tuesday and thursday from 6pm to 8pm we do" thing, so if my work/life schedule gets in the way it won't be like I'm blowing them off. More of a special occasion thing.

I just wanted to say--

She's forgetting the most important thing of all-
YOU LOVE YOUR KIDS!!

That's the thing you give them most, whnever you see them and even when they're not there.

Even though it might not immediately work if you have already filed your taxes for this year, if you go to the IRS website you can actually calculate how much you will have to pay in taxes for the next year and NOT get a refund, but instead, keep more of your money during the year.

Yes, that's what I've done for this year.
